“Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” – Ephesians 6:16
The Apostle Paul exhorts us to put on the whole armor of God, and “above all”, take the shield of faith. The concept is that, if your faith is strong, nothing should get past the shield to injure you or your armor. How do you make sure your faith is strong? By spending time with God through prayer, scripture reading, and fellowship with other believers (for where two or more are gathered, Jesus is in their midst).
You can only get to know someone by spending time with them. It’s no different with God. He still speaks today, in the quiet of our souls. Take time with Him today and everyday to learn His voice so you can distinguish it from that of the flesh or the Devil.
Finally, strong faith does not mean that troubles will not come. The enemy will still attack and the flesh will still have it’s desires (lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life), but you will be fully equipped to win those battles in the power of the Lord.
May the Lord bless you and keep you!
