Jesus said, “where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” He also said, “out the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” What am pointing out with these verses? Simply that if you want to know what someone treasures in their heart, then listen to how they speak. We can also evaluate ourselves by that same criteria.
To be an effective soldier in the Army of the Lord, you have to know how to use the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. The trouble is, there are a lot of Christian soldiers that do not know the Word of God to the degree needed to be successful in battle. In Psalm 119, David lays out a few key principles:
– Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way, by taking heed to the Word of God.
– Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against God.
– Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
This week I bring all of these scriptures together to demonstrate the importance of knowing the scriptures if we are to be successful on the battlefield. Enjoy!
May the Lord bless you and keep you!
