It’s day 9 of our sword training. We are reading Psalm 41-45 and Proverbs 9. I hope you’re enjoying the challenge. Allow me to up the impact a little bit. When you read the daily scriptures, read them aloud, for there is power in the spoken word of God. Isaiah 55:10-11 says,
“For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
God is saying that whenever his word is spoken, it will do something in the spirit. I believe that is true even when we are reading the scriptures aloud to ourselves. Romans 10:17 confirms that, saying, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Exciting, isn’t it? You can actually build your faith by listening to someone reading the scriptures – even if that’s you. It’s a principle that most believers do not know.
The concept is simple, really. Remember that faith, trusting God, is based on relationship with him. As you spend time reading the scriptures, you are spending time with God. Reading the scriptures aloud amplifies that time because you are hearing the Word of God just like Romans 10:17 says.
So, keep on reading, my friends. As you read and learn, you are gaining strength to wield your sword. May the Lord bless you and keep you!
