Day 27, my friends, and God continues to speak to us through his word. Today’s readings are Psalm 126-130 and Proverbs 27.
Sometimes scripture can bring some much needed comic relief. Today is one of those times, at least for me. You see, I’ve never been a morning person. Oh, I get up early because I have to, but that doesn’t mean I like it. I’d much rather stay up late, and sleep in. That’s why I had to laugh (actually out loud) when I read Proverbs 27:14.
“If anyone loudly blesses their neighbor early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse.”
We all know someone like that – bright-eyed and bushy-tailed first thing in the morning. It’s disgusting! 😂 I’m kidding, of course, but I have shared this verse with chipper early-risers before. It makes for a good laugh.
The other scripture I want to highlight is Psalm 126, where Israel is praising the Lord for all of the great things he has done for them. We to can praise him for the many blessings in our lives. Here is a great song called “Psalm 126 (You have done great things).” Enjoy this song, and have a blessed day!
May the Lord bless you and keep you, my friends!
