Sword Training – Day 31

Welcome to Day-31 of the Sword Training Challenge, my friends! We are three quarters of the way through the challenge, and today we finish up Psalm and Proverbs. The verses speaking to me today are Psalm 147:19-20.

“He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel. He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws.”

This is important to understand. The nation of Israel is chosen by God above all others. He is their God, and they are his people. Through Israel God brought salvation to the world. Jesus is that salvation – he is our salvation.

You may be wondering how Jesus can be your salvation if you do not have Jewish ancestry. My friend, through Jesus Christ, God has purchased salvation for all people. As believers in Jesus Christ, we have been engrafted into the vine of God – we are accepted as God’s chosen by the circumcision of our hearts. Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.” – Acts 16:31

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16

The other part about today’s scripture that strikes me is when it says, “He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws.” You may hear people saying that all religions point to the same God. This scripture shows that that cannot be true. Just as the Law of Moses was not given to any other nation, the Law of Grace is not given through any other religion. There is only one way to salvation – Jesus Christ – and only Christianity accepts that truth. Many other religions declare Jesus as a prophet, but do not recognize him as the Son of God. If they cannot accept him as God, then they cannot possibly accept that he died for our redemption. If you ever hear anyone say that all religions follow the same God, point them to Psalm 147:20. It’s just not true.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, my friends!
