Imagine being in an army with a commander-in-chief that has all authority over your army AND the armies of the enemy. Sound crazy? Well, my friends, that is the Army of God, and the Commander-in-Chief is Jesus Christ. Philippians 2:9-11 says,
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Welcome to Day 32 of the Sword Training Challenge. Today I am reading Ephesians 1, with support from Philippians 2:9-11. Ephesians confirms what we read in Philippians when it says,
“[God] raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” – Ephesians 1:20-23
Remember, we are fighting against principalities, powers, and rulers of the darkness of this world. The good news, however, is that all of those principalities and powers are subject to Jesus’ authority. Bottom-line: we win!
Be encouraged saints. Whenever you are in the heat of battle, whether it be fleshly temptation or demonic oppression, you will win if you keep your hope in Jesus. The Proverbs tell us to trust in Him with all of our hearts, and He will make our paths straight. When the enemy comes, speak the name of Jesus. It is the name above all names, to which all things in heaven and on earth must bow.
Pray in the name of Jesus. Speak in the name of Jesus. Preach the name of Jesus, for there is power in the name – Holy Ghost power!
May the Lord bless you and keep you, my friends!
