Welcome to Day-37 of the Sword Training Challenge. Today I’m reading Isaiah 61. Yesterday we saw the armor of God described as the Garments of Vengeance. Today, we see the Garments of Salvation, our bridal dress.
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robes of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” Isaiah 61:10
When I joined the U.S. Army, I was issued two types of uniforms – the battle dress uniform (BDU’s) and the dress uniform (Class-A’s). The same is true in the Army of God. In Isaiah 59, we see the battle dress uniform called the Garments of Vengeance. In Isaiah 61, we see the bridal dress uniform called the Garments of Salvation. Both of these uniforms are in the category of “Robes of Righteousness”. Basically, whether dressing for battle or dressing for the wedding, we are clothing ourselves with Christ. Isn’t it great to know that God’s got us covered in any situation?!?
May the Lord bless you and keep you, my friends!
